About "Oceania"
1:16 scale (curio sized), this vivacious handful represents a young athletic mare valiantly swimming her heart out. On her seaweed base she stands just over 8 inches tall and from her nose (or water) to streaming tail is nearly 8.5 inches long. Because the option of magnets to hold her to this base is a bit unsual I've made an interactive video as well (see comments to the left) More thoughts about her inspiration below.

Edition Information

Mare and her seaweed base will be professionally solid cast with wires. Then each of the castings will be inspected and (if being matched with seaweed) magnets will be added by hand by Morgen. Those being sold without seaweed (see comments below) will have the magnet holes filled in with resin.

Her clear water "collar" and sheet of clear resin "water effects" for customizing are included with each sale but come separately with each mare casting. She is literally a "some assembly required" sculpture! She will certainly push the envelope on painter / owner creativity for set ups! Suggestions on how-to add these and care & handling recommendations will be included. NOTE: Due to magnets being matched & aligned for each pair at the time each order ships, not all seaweed castings will be interchangeable for each mare casting. Ordering seaweed at a later date will be vastly trickier in other words!

Oceania was sold as an open edition for a very limited period of time - when edition closes the casting number is final.

Oceania alone $130 postage paid in the US
(above price also includes her clear water
effects accessories - for attaching after painting)

  • International Priority $40 for up to 2 castings (plus seaweed) per box

Payment Information & Terms

Reservation deposits are $50 and no horse will be marked as reserved without this deposit fee. A casting is made to order with your deposit and thus reservations are non-refundable.

You may pay off the balance of your order at any time and casting will be shipped immediately (provided of course that I have castings in stock which I most likely will from this point onward; added Aug 21st, 2013).

If you wish to use any discounts for paid in full please contact me first to confirm price. Any applied discounts will be applied to the entire price but reservation deposits of $50 must be paid first. However when you place your reservation do give notice of intention to use said discount.

Payment Methods Accepted

Payments can be made by paypal or by mailing a check or money order to me directly. Please email me for my current snail mail address when mailing any check and money order payments as we will be moving.

Please send all inquiries to both of the following two email addresses;
morgen@one-horse.net; artbymorgen@yahoo.com

Paypal payments should be addressed to morgen@one-horse.net

Please note: I always ask that customers help ensure nothing slips through the cracks by keeping track of their purchase balance when making payments in any form in a note with the payment. Dates of payments with the remaining balance due are best so that no payment is ever lost or entered incorrectly. And to ensure that I'm alerted to ship out immediately upon their paying off the horse. Example, customer note in the paypal comments box would be; " $50 deposit and $40 payment on June 20th, balance remaining $70".

If for any reason you feel I may have missed a missed a question please do not hesitate to inquire! I always try to confirm payments within a few days so these confirmation emails may be going into your spam filters.

Alternate contact information is always appreciated as well!

TIMEPAYERS: CASTINGS ARE SHIPPING AS THEY ARE PAID OFF

Reserve your casting with a $50 non-refundable deposit below or select the payment in full option below that. Castings are anticipated to ship in the next 2 months. Note that each casting ordered is individually finished by hand by Morgen to either have her magnets and matching aligned specifically to her seaweed or the mare is sold alone without magnets.

You may also pay with a check or money order, contact Morgen for mailing address. Mailed payments postmarked after Tuesday, Aug 20th will not be accepted.

Please read all terms to the left - these deposits are being taken in advance of the castings being made. Production time will vary. Balance can be paid off at any time and when caught up (expected to be caught up on paid order shipping by late June).

Sales and Shipping Information

Castings are shipped when paid in full (provided of course that I have castings in stock which I most likely will from this point onward; added Aug 21st, 2013).

All previous editions sold by Morgen are fully caught up on in shipping and your castings can be shipped together if you wish but no discounts in shipping are possible.

PLEASE NOTE that either paying for additional shipping or arranging in person pickups must be done as well when paying off your order before it will ship.

All of these reservations are in advance of casting
so when you pay for your order this deposit is used towards casting costs and is non-refundable for this reason.

All terms are subject to change. (And I try to keep any changes to the benefit of the customer!).

If for some reason you need a shipment held on to (or for any questions!), please contact me.

Getting Your Unpainted Resin Finished

At this time I am planning to focus primarily on the sculpting and leave the finishing work to the many many wonderfully skilled painters that are out there (under the "Find a Painter" page - button up to the left - you'll find many terrific painters to chose from!). Please do check on my Find a Painter page as I'm adding new names all the time (newest names are appearing at the top).

A Personal Note from the Artist

More than any sculpture I've yet created, Oceania has seemed to inspire folks with all sorts of really exciting display ideas. I can't wait to see these come "to life"! I hope some folks will opt out of the seaweed and take on the daunting task of submerging her (after she's painted of course!) in clear Lucite or attempting similar acrylic water effects. Some have told me they intend to display her on acrylic rods or within small custom tanks. I think there's a huge untapped area here and it's vastly more creative and crafty than I am!

Mostly I was inspired by otter and human swimming sculptures. She represents this longing I've had to achieve that weightless aspect horses enchant us with; floating around in their pastures.

Last year I shared my hopes and dreams for a swimming horse, with sketches and a video (!) I'd found here; http://mksculpt.blogspot.com/2012/05/world-needs-more.html
